Important Features of Cars

what is automotive technology course

You can't have a car without all the features you desire, and many cars didn't have them in the 1980s. Crumple zones were introduced to minivans, and impact bumps were eventually replaced with crumple zone. A CB radio could be installed in an older car. The two-way communication device was useful, but it was difficult to use. As cellphones became more popular, the trend died.

Air conditioner

Car air conditioning systems are an important part of any vehicle. The vehicle's air conditioner provides a comfortable environment and cool temperature for its occupants. Air pollution is extremely harmful to the human body. Air conditioner filters are essential to protect passengers from dangerous air pollution. Air conditioners have become an integral part modern cars. Air conditioners can be costly to set up so it is crucial to understand how they work.

A compressor is used in a car's air conditioning unit to pressurize the refrigerant. It is then cooled and dispersed outside. The compressor is located inside the engine bay. It is often an axial piston-pump compressor. The compressor converts the compressed to the condenser. The condenser is located at the radiator. It lowers refrigerant temperature. The cooled liquid refrigerant is then routed to the evaporator.

An USB charging outlet

Some cars do not have a USB charging socket. While some cars may have outlets located in the glovebox, center console, and dashboard, others do not. The built-in ports are recommended if you plan on using your device to charge a cell phone or to play games. A USB charging outlet in a car is a necessary feature to keep in mind. You should consider purchasing a charger that has additional safety features.

To charge your car's USB devices, you can use it to charge music players, power banks and some cameras. If you have passengers and need to charge multiple devices at once, you can leave the socket in the car. The socket can be left in place so that you can plug in multi-tap chargers if you choose. It is possible to also use the outlet for powering your portable devices while driving, such a tablet.

Keyless ignition

Keyless ignition systems pose a danger to drivers in terms of safety. Because keyless ignition systems are activated when the key fob leaves the car, they can keep the car on, even if the driver doesn't need it. Some cars will emit an alert if you remove the fob, while others will automatically place the vehicle in Park as soon the door is opened. Some cars will even shut off the engine if the driver leaves the car idling for a certain period of time.

Although keyless ignition systems require pressing a button to activate, most of them can be operated using push buttons. Some have rocker and rotary switches. Some models also have alerts that allow the driver to know if the ignition is tampered with. This feature may not work for all vehicles. To find out the options, it is a good idea to read the owner's guide. Nonetheless, most keyless ignition systems are safe for drivers and can be a convenient addition to a vehicle.

Automated climate control

Auto air conditioners have the ability to adjust the cabin temperature and humidity. The air conditioning system is operated by several onboard sensors that detect the outside temperature and humidity. High-end car manufacturers have added technology to adjust the temperature and humidity depending on the sun's intensity. These features make driving more pleasant and can even stop nausea. Check if your car has an automatic climate control system.

Depending on the type of climate control feature your car offers, you can program different parts of the car's air conditioning system. You can adjust fan speed, air distribution, as well as recirculation settings. You can normally set the temperature by pressing the "A/C” button on the infotainment monitor or in the center stack. To activate the system after you have chosen the desired temperature, press the AUTO key.
